6.11.5 - Yet another Windows access question - Certificates when using Server Name

Featured Replies

Dear all,

I've done a bit of google-fu on my issue, but haven't found anything conclusive, so here I am. Here's the situation :

  • SMB share, set as private & hidden
  • User created with read/write access to that share
  • Connection with Win10 22H2 explorer works when I'm using the IP of the server or the .local domain name
  • When I'm using the Server Name, I get prompted for a certificate, none of which works (see picture)
  • After selecting a certificate, it show a Windows cannot access \\SERVERNAME\sharename error, error 0x80004005

Questions : why is Windows prompting for a certicate, and how can I prevent that from happening ?

Thanks !
