December 6, 20223 yr I lost samba access after a VM switch to another VM. I shut down windows 10 vm, booted up a MacOS VM and shut it down after 10 minutes. Rebooted windows 10 VM and lost access to all samba shares (both private and globally shared) Restarted array - rebooted server - still no access... Connectivity is fine - ip is acquired - internet access - unraid webui access uninterrupted. Writing this post from my VM right now. No special samba config - latest version of unraid - had problems with with samba in 6.10 that was temporarily fixed with 6.10.2 My win 10 laptop and ipad have samba access with no problems in r/w. Diagnostics attached. December 6, 20223 yr Community Expert What error message is Windows giving? How are you attempting access? WIndows Explorer? Mapped Drive? Is the server--- Tower ---showing up under 'Network' in Windows Explorer? If it does, what happens if you click on it? What happens if you use this address \\192.168.1.200 in the address bar of Windows Explorer? Is your server set up to be the Local Master? Settings >>> SMB > Workgroup Settings

Tried to delete credentials and rebooted - No access - it won't even ask for my login credentials when trying to access. December 6, 20223 yr Community Expert Open a Command prompt window (on the Windows10 computer and type: net use * /delete Also check to see that you have reserved the IP address (\\192.168.1.200) for your server on your router. Also try to access \\TOWER in Windows Explorer. BTW, MS has turned off client access to servers as a 'guest' client. This means that you must have a valid SMB user login on a server to gain access even to 'public' shares on a server!
December 6, 20223 yr Author Strange net use * /delete gives me: C:\WINDOWS\system32>net use * /delete There are no entries in the list. Cannot right click the netdrives to delete them \\TOWER gives me same error 0x80070035 Complete meltdown of samba access and it's something to do with the VM. Will fire up macOS vm to see if I can get access from there.
December 6, 20223 yr Author MacOS vm has normal access with guest and user account in my shares. Windows rebooted but still no luck. will run dism and chdisk now...
December 6, 20223 yr Author chkdsk and dism with no issues.... Deleted entries in regedit for my netdrives also. Still there...with red X. cannot remove them. Just got destroyed by a simple reboot.... Will probably have to make a new vm with same disk hoping that i won't lose my setups and try again. If it's windows I will format and do a fresh install. December 6, 20223 yr Author Changed MAC address a few times. Updated drivers. Restored the windows system Still nothing. Others PCs have access with the same account.
