Moving a centralizing data stored on individual vm's on my server

Featured Replies

I'm cleaning up the VM's on my server and making some updates. I utilizing some of the VM's for other services, but want to keep the data from the VM's somewhere on my server.

This may be a very basic question, but I'm a beginner. So, please bare with me.

How do I move data (files, etc), off of a VM and store them somewhere else on on the server?

Do I need to setup a file storage system or plugin? And, how do I get files from an individual VM to a folder on my server?

The easiest way is to treat your VM's just like standalone machines on your network, and connect them to user shares with SMB.

Just so I understand. SMB is file sharing right?

What's the best way to set that up?
