[SOLVED] WebGUI unreachable-solved, I'm a dumba$$

Featured Replies

Brand new unRAID user here. Much PC / Windows / network experience but zero Linux.

Started with the latest beta (3 disk freebie) because I am statring off with Hitachi 3TB drives. Built the array (3TB parity + WD2TB disk1 + 3TB disk2). Did all of the basics, shares, users, etc without problems. Populated the array with 5TB of data successfully.

Everything going well so I bought unRAAID Pro license (preinstalled on flash). I followed the upgrade instructions http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=UnRAID_Server_Version_5.0-beta7_Release_Notes and booted from my new flash.

I had attached some additional HDDs which caused the /dev/sdx identifiers on my original 3 drives to change but I redefined my array just as originally built (3 drives only) by using the drive serial numbers. Both data drives look fine and the array came online but started rebuilding parity. I figured it might because of the change in /dev/sdx.

Based on the HDD activity light on my server I believe parity rebuilding is still working but I have lost the ability to run the Web management interface. IE returns "The page cannot be displayed" message and Firefox returns an unregistered domain page from godaddy.com.

I logged into the server as root but don't have a clue what to do from the command line to restart the WebGUI or monitor the progress of the parity rebuild. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

edit-I just figured it out. On the trial license I had changed the name of my server from tower to unRAID. When I rebooted with the Pro license I did not redo the name change. My router must have cached the IP address for \\unRAID because I could initially connect with that URL. The cache must have expired. Connection now requires \\Tower.
