I'm looking to convert one of my VMs back to a dedicated bare metal server without unraid.

What would be the best way to achieve this? 

 

Is it possible to run clonezilla to backup to a USB drive and then restore to bare metal server? or is there a better/easier way?

 

OS is Ubuntu 18.04

    Necro-posting: Is it necessary to do anything to Ubuntu to make it work on non-virtualized hardware? Did you use passthrough or a virtual drive for the VM?

    Maybe more importantly, did you figured it out? lol
