December 21, 20223 yr My internet is being updated to a new model modem that will have a gateway address of 10.0.0.1. My old modem has a gateway address of 192.168.1.1. Everything on my network is based on 192.168.1.-. I have done this with a couple of router/firewall replacements. They came with a different network IP address and I changed them to 192.168.1.1 so as to avoid having to change everything on the LAN to a new network address range.
December 21, 20223 yr Author Ok so I'm not super network savvy but looking into it a bit more I believe I should be ok. My internet modem will bridged so my network ips shouldn't change since they come from my router. Does this sound right?
