Sleep/Wake

Featured Replies

Can Unraid automatically sleep and wake when I need it to? Seems I remember a lot of fussing about this a while back and don't know if there was ever a real simple solution.

I have an old NAS box (diskstation), and it does this with no hassle at all.. I would think an entire computer devoted to Unraid would be able to do this simple thing without 85 steps involved and then it still doesn't work.   Don't get all mad about the way I ask my dumb question, just point me in the direction of the exact way to do this please thanks.

What I want;  wake on demand, sleep after a period of inactivity if my diskstation can do it with the click of a simple checkbox, than so should Unraid.  If it can't be done, well then I don't need another computer running 24/7.  I like unraid because it is not proprietary like my nas.

Thank you all.

This is not a standard Unraid facility,

There is the S3 Sleep plugin that tries to implement this,   How well it works seems to depend on your hardware.  it is a case of trying to see if it works for you.

the wake side is typically a bios setting.

there is always the option of simply powering off at a specified time and then rebooting as an an alternative to sleep.
