XFS issue?

Featured Replies

I just had my first issue with unraid for a very long time. This unit has been so stable.

I have no idea what really happened. The console logs in eventually to the CLI. Then I start getting XFS (MD1): Metadata CRC erros detected at block at xfs_dir3_block_read_verify+0x7c/0xf1 etc etc

Then it says to unmount and run xfs_repair whihc I dont know what that is.

Never seen this issue. do not understand it at all.

The web server sometimes logs in and other times just fails the page.

when it does get to login and I get main page up, pretty much everytime I click on any top menu items, it will just go to not able to load page.

I had a look in the logs at the errors and cant see any issues

I have started in safe mode no plugins and tried to start array. it says starting and thats all it does.

Where should I look. can anyone assist me. What do I need to share?

o I worked out how to do it.

but each time I run repair, the photo you see attached comes up. it finishes, but if you run it again, you get the same result.

I ran it a couple times and restarted the array, but still have the same issues with getting to the web server.

It says it is repairing it? but seems to not be?

Post new diags after array start.

am i just better off replacing drive 1 and letting parity rebuild it?

  • Community Expert

Rebuild won't help with filesystem issues.

  • Author

ok then so can someone please share what I need to do.

Why wont a rebuild of drive 1 help or why doesn't the parity drives automatically fix these issues.

Makes absolutely no sense to me to havea  problem like this and not be repairable with parity drives . after all, isn't that what they are there for? to make failures fixable easily?

So I cant get to contents z web access doesnt seem to work.

Other things about your Unraid networking don't seem to be working either. Has something changed about your LAN?

  • Author

well i wouldnt believe it. I had a rogue ESP smart device that took the address the unraid server was on. I hadn't moved the dhcp range upwards far enough.

no idea how it got onto the same ip when the server was a;ready there

ok it is all up and running again it seems. I will let you know if it has other issues

many thanks
