January 3, 20233 yr Hello And Happy New 2023 ✨ Unraid Has Suddenly become unreachable from any device – It looks like it is loading ok (no red fonts at least) and running until the end In the console (Samba is the last) but there is no way to communicate with unraid GUI from any computer or device. 1) Is there a way to enter UnRaid GUI from the console on the computer it is running on to see what is going on ? 2) Is it safe to upload the diagnostics zip here - is there sensitive information inside ? (Uploaded but with a password just in case) 3) What needs to be done so that this can be fixed ? Waiting for your help to get UnRaid Back Up And Running in 2023 🙂 Thanks Zak The password for diagnostics attached is - UnRaid03012023fix urdtower-diagnostics-20230103-2359_2.zip Edited January 4, 20233 yr by Zakinator Adding password for diagnostics file
January 4, 20233 yr Community Expert Yes. When the Unraid server is in its boot process, there is an boot option menu that appears on the console screen. Just select one of the two that indicate that a GUI will be installed. The 'Safe' mode will will boot-up without Plugins, Dockers or VM's. The other boots up your 'normal' Unraid configuration except that you will have a GUI on the console. Be sure that you check to see that you have an IP address and what that address is.

January 4, 20233 yr Community Expert Attach diagnostics zip file exactly as it was prepared by Unraid to your NEXT post in this thread.
January 4, 20233 yr Author Hi Frank Thanks for your reply. I have tried this before writing on the forum meaning to load it in safe and without plug-ins and what not but it looks like it was worse very weirdly because it got stuck in the middle and didn't finish like it did in regular mode. When booting in regular mode at the end of the loading it shows its regular local IP but it can no longer be accessible via that IP. What suddenly happened? Edited January 4, 20233 yr by Zakinator

January 4, 20233 yr Community Expert I see nothing in the diagnostics file to indicate a problem. (BTW, the diagnostics file generated by using the command line also has sensitive data removed!) Your IP address for the server is 192.168.1.100 Try pinging it from your PC.

January 5, 20233 yr Community Expert That would seem to indicate that you have a problem in your network. As a test, I am assuming that you have a login prompt on the monitor and a keyboard connected to your Unraid server. Login into the server using your root credentials. Make sure the PC (from which your tried to ping the server) is on. Type the following command: ping 192.168.1.12 If this does not work, it would appear that there is some problem with network hardware. Try switch the Cat5 cable. Try a different port on the switch. Double check to see that you have reserved the IP address of 192.168.1.100 for use by your Unraid server. (If you didn't, the router's DHCP service may have assigned it to another computer on your network. Edited January 5, 20233 yr by Frank1940
January 6, 20233 yr Community Expert ethtool seems to indicate you only have 100m connection instead of 1G so possibly some hardware issue. Check plugs, ports, cables on computers, switches, routers.
January 7, 20233 yr Author Solution Thanks for your help it helped me resolve the problem - I have taken the UnRaid USB and put it in a different computer and it loaded just fine so I Understood it’s not something to do with UnRaid so I tested what you said about a Lan problem and narrowed it down to a faulty Lan card on the Original UnRaid Computer - I change it to a new card and what do you know everything got back to normal. So Thanks Again for helping me get out of the mud (without breaking anything on the way 😜🤙🏻)
