is it possible? how? any guides?

 

I was going order a standard PCI network card but someone told me its not supported.

 

I want to run my UNRAID server to stream to my HTPC for XBMC so videos 1080p media (wifi can't support this hence need it to be wired) and such. my HTPC is upstairs, my router is downstairs.

 

Thats fine.. but I also want my UNRAID to download 24/7 files which I want using Couch potato, SAB and SB. this isn't possible if i don't have wifi. any suggestions please?

    YOu best bet is to by a wifi router for upstairs and set it up in bridged mode to extend your network.  Hard wire the HTPC and unRAID server into it.  That should work for both your cases, though I have never tried it myself.
