mikechy
Just ordered two of these from this Ebay vendor. I can't vouch for quality as I have not received them yet. Price is right though! http://cgi.ebay.com/Internal-Mini-SAS-Connector-SFF-8087-4-SATA-/320718340533?pt=COMP_EN_Networking_Components&hash=item4aac4d81b5 Quote Link to comment

The ones at Fry's are decent quality and I'm not afraid of them. Foil wrapped. That's all I know about them. Quote Link to comment
madburg
Looks exactly like the forward breakout cable my supermicro board came with, seem good. Only thing is seller is a bit strange: Shipping: WILL NOT SHIP TO NEW YORK!!!!! Important information: SOLD AS IS! SOLD AS IS! SOLD AS IS! Doesnt know much about what he is selling, which can play either way, a great deal, or it was in the bottom of the ocean for a while and now up for sale Quote Link to comment
christuf
So these should (provided they are as described/ pictures) go from a AOC-SASLP-MV8 to 4 SATA drives? Just wanted to check before taking the plunge! Quote Link to comment
mikechy
Doing some searching using the info he gave they appear to be geniune 8087 cables. I don't think the seller really knows what they are. The photos look right and if you do a search they look exactly like the Supermicro ones. @christuf - Yes. These would work with that board. I have that board on order and ordered these cables for it. I'll post a review of them as soon as I get them. Looking at the ebay ad it appears 69 of them have been sold and his feedback is solid. Quote Link to comment
aRe-eYe-pEa
Thank you for this post! This is a great deal if they work on arrival. Quote Link to comment

But only one way to find out. Quote Link to comment
Nyago123
Not as cheap (especially in CA w/sales tax)... but I've ordered from Monoprice a few times in the past. Might be a reasonable alternative if you're concerned about the seller. http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10254&cs_id=1025406 Quote Link to comment
rsd
(I don't even have the SATA card yet but couldn't resist a good deal) Fyi, the seller accepted my offer of $4 each for 4 cables. Quote Link to comment
mikechy
Woah! I got ripped off $4 each is a super hot deal! Quote Link to comment
mikechy
@Nyago - I looked at Monoprice first (I LOVE that place and have used them for all network / video equipment for the theatre room and the entire basement when I built it out) but they were out of stock with an unknown ETA. I then found the Ebay ones from a google search. I even bought a few in wall speakers from Mono and they sound awesome especially at the price. Quote Link to comment

Superorb
Cool. I don't have any of these cards right now, but it would be good to have a few cables if I ever do Quote Link to comment
Rembro
@Mikechy did he accept your offer for 4 pieces? Only 8 left :-) @Christuff did the ebay-seller respond to you ? willing to ship to NY? if not i will take my chance with Mickechy Quote Link to comment
Superorb
I put in an offer for 4 for $4 as well. If he doesn't accept the offer no big deal, I don't even have the cards and still 3 empty slots in my system. Quote Link to comment
Rembro
When you look at the sold history and pending offers, 17,18 and 19 juli there is pretty much activity :-) would be nice if we UnRaid'ers could get a few. Quote Link to comment
Superorb
Only 6 left now, probably best to just buy them at his asking price if you really do need them. Quote Link to comment
Rembro
Don't need them now but i do in a few weeks , maybe a month . These cables are way overprized here in Belgium. @Mikechy 4 pieces @ 6 dollar each is fine by me also! Quote Link to comment
soccermatt34
Relisted at $5.50 each http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320730849159#ht_514wt_1396 Quote Link to comment
mikechy
Ok Rembro. I outright purchased the 4 at $5.50 US. I'll figure out what it will cost to send to Belgium. PM me your address and I'll calculate it. Quote Link to comment
soccermatt34
My $4 offer X 2 cables was rejected on the $6 auction, just accepted on the $5.50 auction! Quote Link to comment
