Can't delete mysql folder

I uninstalled MySQL and now I cant delete the MySQL folder due to permissions. I'm a Linux newbie, could someone help me learn how to remove the directory?

    It depends on where the MySQL-folder is. Fill in rest/of/path with the correct path.

     

    try:

    cd /mnt/user/rest/of/path

    rm -rf MySQL-folder
