January 18, 20233 yr Hi all, Appreciate if someone is able to provide their view on if this drive should be replaced? I'm not at all knowledgable in this space and have read various opinions online if these high counts are of immedidate concern to replace or not use entirely. The below bolded are the SMART results which are flagged as warnings after running one pass of pre-clear on a new array drive (Seagate Exos 8TB) . (I apologise i am unable to attach the txt file at this time). 5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct PO--CK 100 100 010 - 2768 187 Reported_Uncorrect -O--CK 085 085 000 - 15 Thank you for your support in advance Edited January 21, 20233 yr by scheduler Bold text
January 18, 20233 yr Community Expert This drive should definitely be replaced. A small number of reallocated sectors is not unreasonable as long as the number remains stable, but a large number are a cause for concern. On a new drive I would be concerned if the number was not 0. FYI: not sure how you set the font but it is virtually unreadable when the forum is set to use the Dark theme.
