Hi ! so I did a vm with ubuntu server 22.04 on my unraid server. On it I installed Pterodactyl a tool to install and manage mincraft servers easily.

So everything works fine BUT Pterodactyl run docker containers for the servers and it need to asign an ip to it. The problem is Pterodactyl cannot give the docker container an ip and gives this error : 

 

here is the text : Error Event [32da4cbf-6334-460e-b8ea-b48bb86df9b9]: environment/docker: failed to start container: Error response from daemon: driver failed programming external connectivity on endpoint a007f2c4-b1cd-4b27-b0b0-eb8de5f04332 (b90f20fbe43332c26122d81ae924dea34446e2a54c7e00a8a90c839fc28ae994): Error starting userland proxy: listen tcp4 192.168.1.134:25565: bind: cannot assign requested address

Usually this means one of your running docker services allready uses the 25565 port. It can be another minecraft server or any app you run on the same vm

nothing else is using the port 25565

I removed the posts I made about the location of the files, because those were not your problem att all. I just misinterpreted the error.

Is there any reason you are using it in a vm and not directly on unraid docker system ?

 

Because I don't want to break my unraid and I just tough it was a good idea.

 

Also Pterodactyl isn't a docker container it needs nginx and everything that's why I did it in a vm

 

Do you think you could help me ?

Mine is running perfectly directly on unraid

as for the error, I think it might be related to a firewall blocking the port on the vm, I'll look a bit into it

Its not always super obvious and the steps are a little weird so follow the documentation really well (use the same file path's).
If you have any question or problem I'm here to help you, I installed this one several times and know how to fix most of the problems with it.
