July 19, 201114 yr I modified your post to turn off smileys. Also, for basic NAS usage 1 GB of RAM is enough, so I wouldn't consider it 'throwaway'.
July 20, 201114 yr I modified your post to turn off smileys. Also, for basic NAS usage 1 GB of RAM is enough, so I wouldn't consider it 'throwaway'. There's more info about this server in my sig. We're still getting it cheaper in the UK (well, it makes a change!). I used it with 1GB for a while. For basic unRAID use, it's fine, but forget it if you want to run add-ons like usenet downloading and/or bittorrent.
July 20, 201114 yr It is a nice server. if I did not already have 3 Chenbro microservers, I'd jump all over this. Somehow I think I am going to end up with one of these eventually. but not this sale. Although... my dad needs a new server... hmm
July 20, 201114 yr I just wanted to say that I really, really dig this small server. I'm running a simple RAID5 on Debian. This little box is fantastic and you can easily add 6 drives to it.
