Hi fellow Unraiders,

I'm looking into building a Unraid server with the usecase of running multiple docker containers and vm's.

Some of the docker containers:

  • Plex Media Server
  • Nextcloud
  • *arr's
  • Tautulli
  • Some Twitch PVR's

And some other small stuff. It doesn't take a lot of cpu power to run those but extracting files from nzbget can be harsh sometimes on the cpu.
I have a small 1060 laying around to help with the Plex HW transcoding.

Further I want to set up a Windows VM, this will go together with the 3060. I'm thinking of playing some coop couch games on there and use it as a dedicated OBS streaming solution.

There are some parts that I already have like the RAM, Case and the 1060.

Will this build be good to run multiple docker containers while having a VM with OBS and be future proof? I also want some other Linux vm's to help me with my study software development.
The only thing that is holding me a little bit back is the power consumption since its an 13900k thats running 24/7. On the other hand I don't want to think in a few months that I should have gone with a better cpu.

Thank you for reading!
