Featured Replies

i filled up disk 1 on my unraid then i accidently lifted a film across from disk1 into the dir with

disk1

disk2

flash

it made a share with the film

ive tried to empty disk 1 and delete but when i put the file back on the share appears again cant get rid of it  ???

or clear the shares complety

see pic below

syslog.txt

Go to disk1 and disk2 and delete the directory and contents so it doesn't appear on either disk.

Go to flash\config\shares and delete the file with the same name there which will have a .cfg extension, if it exists.

Stop and start the array and it should be gone for good.

tryed putting the file in all the disks on the server the share still apears  :-[

Where are you adding the file? If you put a directory at the top level of a disk then it becomes a user share by default unless you turn user shares off.

adding it straight into disk1 through the explorer in win7

Generally, you don't want to create a bunch of directories in each disk. You want to have a few catagory directories on each disk as user shares. Then, you get a network share called, for example, "Movies" that holds the contents of all the disks.

Try turning off user shares...
