July 21, 201114 yr i filled up disk 1 on my unraid then i accidently lifted a film across from disk1 into the dir with disk1 disk2 flash it made a share with the film ive tried to empty disk 1 and delete but when i put the file back on the share appears again cant get rid of it or clear the shares complety see pic below syslog.txt
July 21, 201114 yr Go to disk1 and disk2 and delete the directory and contents so it doesn't appear on either disk. Go to flash\config\shares and delete the file with the same name there which will have a .cfg extension, if it exists. Stop and start the array and it should be gone for good. Peter

Peter deleted off disk 1 , went to flash drive in shares and no files there , rebooted and added it again the same thing happens

July 21, 201114 yr Where are you adding the file? If you put a directory at the top level of a disk then it becomes a user share by default unless you turn user shares off. Peter

July 21, 201114 yr Generally, you don't want to create a bunch of directories in each disk. You want to have a few catagory directories on each disk as user shares. Then, you get a network share called, for example, "Movies" that holds the contents of all the disks. Try turning off user shares... Peter

Peter ok i made a movies 1 folder in disk1 and transfered works fine
