February 1, 20233 yr I have recently build an unRAID array of 26TB which is mostly empty, more specific I have 21TB available across 8 drives.I'm just wondering how this is possible with 21TB available in the tower. Looking at the user created shares I noticed they are all around 21Gb in size yet I can't find a way to make them bigger. In the shares settings there is a option to set the minimum space but nowhere an option to make the shares bigger. From what I understand the shares are supposed to expand across multiple drives as needed but if that's the case how come when trying to copy over I get the out of space message pictured? Any helpfully input is appreciate it or a way to resolve this. Thank you in advance. Sent from my SM-S908U1 using Tapatalk

You must set a value for this variable for every share on your server to prevent the problem you have just encountered. If you don't, Unraid does not 'know' the size of the file (in advance) you are attempting to write. IF there is not enough disk space for a file, the write will fail. (In this case, I have set 50GB because I know I will will be writing computer image files to this share and I further know that they will be smaller than that value.)
