Flash Drive Failing

Featured Replies

I've been using unRAID since late 2008 and have not had any issues with the original flash drive.  Unfortunately, I ran out of space on my original 2009 flash drive and tried to replace/upgrade it with a new one over Christmas week 2022.  Over the last 5 weeks it has been one problem after another:

  • Multiple kernel: usb 1-1: reset high-speed USB device number 2 using ehci-pci
  • Multiple Directory Bread errors.
  • Multiple errors that state the drive is not read-write
  • Multiple errors stating the drive is disconnecting

I have tried running chkdsk on it multiple times and each time it finds some type of corruption, which ends up creating multiple "FOUND.00X" directories and FSCK00XX.REC files.  I have also tried reformatting the drive with a full format and starting over from scratch, but to no avail.  II upgraded my license key to this drive only a few weeks ago; what is the process to obtain a new license key once I obtain yet another flash drive?

Make it's using a USB 2.0 port, and if issues continue replace it.

@limetech Please see above, replaced my flash drive back on 12/26/22 with a device that is causing multiple errors.  I now have a new Kingston flash drive that appears to be working.  Since it has been less than 1 year since updating the license key how do I update the key on this new Kingston flash drive?

If you need a new key in less than a year then as the message in your screen shot says you need to contact support.
