February 7, 20233 yr Before I came here, I did my usual test of multiple things to try and reduce the variables that could be causing the problem, but I think I'm getting to a point where it's driving me crazy now. I've been fighting this problem with unRAID crashing for over a month now. I had an AMD FX-9590 w/ 32gb RAM along with a 512gb cache drive and four hdd for my array (no parity at this point....I know....I know....but that will come after I can get rid of the basic system issues). It started with a failure of the usb drive. I replaced the usb drive with a Samsung Bar Plus 32gb usb drive and used a backup, so it seemed everything was fine. But it wasn't long after, and maybe an upgrade or two of the OS, that my server would crash after several days of uptime. I went back to 6.10.3 (no luck) and ran memtests (nothing wrong) and I have the syslog to write to hdd so I can review it after a crash, but nothing shows in the log right before a crash. I have now replaced the motherboard and CPU (bought Asrock pro4 w/ Intel i5-11400 and 32gb RAM) and I'm still having the OS crash (at least the power usage is lower). I then reformatted the cache drive and setup the containers again, but used the old appdata, as I really don't want to completely start over from scratch. I hoped that would fix the problem, but nope....crashed again. Only thing left that I can think of is the power supply or the Mellanox ConnectX-3 card.....or a complete start from scratch. I'm at my wits end. I really like unRAID OS, but it's really giving me a hard time lately after trying to diagnose this myself. Can someone please help me? I'm attaching my diagnostics file....maybe it will help understand what's going on. I can provide the syslog that logs across crashes if needed. TIA for any help!....I can really use some guidance from the brain trust. unraid-diagnostics-20230206-2217.zip
February 7, 20233 yr Community Expert Solution Try switching to ipvlan (Settings -> Docker Settings -> Docker custom network type -> ipvlan (advanced view must be enabled, top right)).
February 7, 20233 yr Author Thank you. I have switched over to ipvlan. I'll have to research more on my side to see what impact that has on my containers and network, but at this point as long as the crashes stop I'll deal with other small issues. Hopefully this works. Thanks again.
