February 9, 20233 yr Hi everyone, I have an HP Proliant DL180 G6 that I am wanting to use with Unraid. It's a 12 bay unit, with a P212 Smart Array SAS Controller. I have a P410 on the way as a backup but that will only be here in a few weeks. Anyhow, I have 6x6TB SAS drives coming in today that I want to use in the system along with a pile of 250GB SSDs. I know I can setup the HDDs in individual Raid 0's and then set them up in Unraid like that, however my question is: What would be the best way for me to set them up for use in unraid? A bunch of Raid 0s, or should I do a Raid 5 on the controller with all the drives in it? How does Unraid detect degredation of the array? The SSDs will be used for cache, however, I am not entirely sure it would be a wise choice to use with the controller. I am having a hard time finding out if it supports TRIM or not. If anyone has a similar setup, I would be greatly appreciative of any advise. I am looking forward to starting my Unraid adventure this weekend. Cheers!

February 9, 20233 yr Author Any recommendations? I've read that the P410 can be flashed into IT mode, which is what I was hoping to do eventually.
February 9, 20233 yr Author Solution I've just managed to switch my P212 controller into HBA mode with HPSAHBA and the HPSAHBA plugin and now I can see all my drives Hopefully it will be stable and live happily every after. Thanks for the help!
