February 10, 20233 yr Greetings UnRaiders A good friend of mine has made me aware of UnRaid and looking to use UnRaid to replace my current Ubuntu server setup that I use for Plex, NZBGet and Sonarr. I have my new UnRaid server built, and ready to start the configuration. I have been following the SpaceInvader One setup videos, however I have recently come across the TRaSH setup guides. Initially, the SpaceInvader setup seemed logical to me. I only use usenet for content. I also have two NVE SSD drives (1 1TB and 1 512GB), so liked SpaceInvader's guides for using multiple cache pools, and using one of the cache pools for the initial download and unpacking. The SpaceInvader’s guides you to set up shares on different drives for different media, aka one drive for say TV, one for Movies, one for Music, and so on. My understanding is that this is so only the drive you are using is spinning, saving you on power and heat. I am unsure if the TRaSH config would offer me any advantages since I don’t use torrent, although I do like the idea where I can have a single mapped drive on my Windows box to my UnRaid server, rather than a mapped drive for every share. If anyone could give me some pointers in what direction I should go for share setup for a 1st time UnRaid user configuration, with the sole purpose of using UnRaid for Plex, I would be most appreciated.
