Hi i just fresh installed unraid 6.11.5. I got 2 drives 8TB. XFS formatted.

I'm transferring now my files on the array and i get a lot of errors in log.

Feb 11 13:05:00 HomeServer01  smbd[23836]: [2023/02/11 13:05:00.071252,  0] ../../source3/smbd/files.c:1199(synthetic_pathref)
Feb 11 13:05:00 HomeServer01  smbd[23836]:   synthetic_pathref: opening [path/to/file/file.pdf] failed

it's not only pdf files.

Unfortunately, i can not share the log because of sensitive file names and co.

What's up with that? it already uses 81% of the log space...

There is a fix in the latest samba release that will be included in Unraid 6.12.  Until that is released, add the following to your SMB Extras file:

logging = 0

  • 4 months later...

Can confirm this does appear to be fixed for me after I updated from 6.11 to 6.12.2.
