Dhcp works, Static Ip settings don't

Hi, whats going on here? I delete network.cfg/network-rules and boot the server, it starts with dhcp as expected, but when I change to static IP and reboot I loose all connectivity to the server..??

    is the DHCP assigned IP in the same subnet as the one you are assigning statically? Is it outside the DHCP range? Are you sure the static IP being assigned is free on the network?
