so I am a little short on cat6 cables at the moment, wondering if I can get this to work.

Right now i have unraid on a dual lan system lan1 is connected to the internet and my home network, can I use lan 2 to connect to a 2nd router that has wireless n so I can connect my htpc to unraid using this wireless n router?

No. unRAID will only use eth0.

not exactly true.  It will only configure eth0, BUT It will use both, but they must be on different sub-nets, and YOU must set up/initialize the second yourself with a few commands.
