Previously totally functional Win10 VM RTX 3060Ti now claiming it has no GPU

Featured Replies

So previously, I hade a functional Win 10 VM, I did the whole Spaceinvader tutorial list and setup the VM through VMC, checked I could remote in, Added the graphics card and Graphics sound and hex edited bios, paired the graphics together and bound to VFIO, edited the boot flash:

kernel /bzimage
append video=efifb:off append initrd=/bzroot

went into XML, edited the bus and function for GPU sound and did the multifunction='on" thing and I had a working server which then recognised I had a 3060ti, used that as a display driver, I could update it, I ran game benchmarks, it passed through to my desktop Samsung Neo G8 over displayport 1.4, everything was fine.

THEN I shutdown from inside the VM, and checked the VM was shutdown in unraid, then closed the server.

HAVING TOUCHED NOTHING, I booted the server again a few days later to use while my knee reconstruction is healing (PC is upstairs, so I can remote game from my laptop) and the VM is totally cooked.... I had both Parsec and Splashtop installed to remote into it just for backup (only splashtop managed to get in as seen below). It logged me in at this crazy fucked up resolution, Parsec as the display driver???? (seen below) and asking a family member to check the screen upstairs, no output to the desktop screen which should be outputting rn (and was before). Asking them to open the Installed and previously running NVIDIA Control Centre I find out that apparently There is no GPU AT ALL in the system???

So I removed the GPU, went back to VMC, booted in no issues. Went back to NVidia GPU, hex edited bios, Nvidia soundcard, updated and then edited the XML as per usual and left it in that form, and I go back to this fucked up no GPU display. How does the VM screw itself over from a perfectly working setup when nothing has been changed???

Anyway Im out of ideas, out of my patience (ghost82 has already helped alot in setting up this VM to begin with to get it functional) and hoping someone with more knowledge than I have actually knows wtf is going on here, because I sure dont. I dont have anything left that Ive read on the forums or seen that I might be able to think is the problem here. Pls send halp.
