February 15, 20233 yr Specs first; (all new hardware) Gigabyte z690 mb Intel 13600 32Gb Kingston FURY Beast DDR4-3200 1x 256gb Kingston NV2 PCI-E 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD 2x 1Tb Kingston NV2 PCI-E 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD 1x 18Tb Exos SanDisk 32Gb slim USB stick ---------------------------------- I started watching x numbers of "install unRaid" videos on youtube to get some tips & tricks. But it looks so straight forward Made the bootdisk with the unRaid loader software. Problem; When booting, with no fancy settings (factory bios settings), I get this (image below), NO ... MATTER .. WHAT. I tried every USB socket on the mb. I tried several different usb sticks. I tried making a leagecy boot stick, but then it just boots to bios.. ever anything else. I spent hours on hours on google trying to find hints on what to do.. but nothing solid. I found ONE forumpost, where a user had the same issiue, got it working.. but dont remember what he did... (...FFS) there is one kicker.... I had it working for 4 days, when i plugged the usb stick in a USB-C hub with USB A sockets. Set up the pools, cache drive, users, a few apps.. all working great. Primary function is Plex, got that working to.. hurray. But, then I had use for the USB hub, so I shut down, and tried to boot direct on the stick.. NO GO... Tried to put the USB hub back to verify that that was a workaround.. NO GO... Now I'm back to square one... unable to boot unRaid.. I'm quite fristraited from hours of trying every bios setting there is and rebooting. Server went far beyond my original budget, and now it's less useful than a brick. I at a point where I might give up, sell the hardware at a big loss, and not get Plex back. I could install Ubuntu and get plex running, but I want something easy to manage (like the unRaid web gui). TrueNas was considered, but I dont like the strick HDD "rules" ... (have to buy HDD is pairs). ANY advice is VERY appreciated.
