Internet Loss - Unraid 6.11.5 - Docker Related?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've been looking over the enhanced log tool for many nights now, and I cannot locate the exact problem that's occurring. Here's a quick point-by-point, I would love any questions you might have.

1. I lose internet to the server, but not network connectivity. I can still access it locally. Pings do not work to outside sources.

2. There are no log entries related to eth0 when this issue happens

3. The internet comes back after I ping out enough times or do enough internet related requests to cause it 'start up'

4. I host my DNS using adguard on three different instances, all are functioning, no other user is experiencing outages, only the unraid server

5. It's not a docker only issue, though it could be docker related

6. This was not a 6.11.5 issue necessarily, 6.11.5 worked fine for quite some time, this is a more recent issue that I didn't notice until recently

7. I was tipped off to this by my speedtest server constantly failing overnight or during long periods of inactivity

8. Another user who had this issue, can't find the post, just uses a script to ping out every 3 - 5 minutes, which keeps the internet 'active'. I haven't tried this yet because it seems like a desperate solution

9. It could be a DNS issue, so I removed all instances except one in the network configuration. I can confirm this server works, I just pinged out successfully.

10. This internet related stuff all started happening after I installed the docker plugin fix for containers showing up as 'not available'. I removed the plugin but it hasn't changed my issue. I can't prove that these things are related, it's just the most recent change I made before the issue started occurring.

I have attached some logs for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks,

I fixed it by changing docker network back to macvlan
