speeding_ant
Hi All, I've built up a new server, so I'm transferring data over from my old unRAID server. Some of the drives have HPA on them, so I thought the safest thing to do would be to gradually transfer data over. This means transferring files over, removing HPA, pre-clearing, and putting back into the array. However, This will take forever.. Would it be wise to start fresh, or can I run ReiserFS check on the drives, remove HPA, and just continue using them? Some of the drives have been in use for over 3 years. I'm unsure if I want to take the risk removing HPA with important data on them, and I've never done this personally to any drive. Ideas/Recommendations? I suspect you'll just tell me to do what I'm dreading. That's OK by me Cheers! Link to comment

kizer
Personally I always take the safest route. I'd move everything then go wild. Link to comment
