V6.11.0 issues with users logging in & https certificate in browsers

Featured Replies

To anyone who can possibly help me, I currently have three issues with my Unraid server.

1)  None of my users are able to login to unraid. I have added a new user testuser added the share acces and password and yet even a new user does not work also. I am beginning to think that it may have something to do with my second issue, that being.

2) A while back I decided to make my cache drive an SSD drive 120GB, I already had a 500GB cache drive however this was an old platter drive. I followed what I believed to be correct instructions at the time when adding the SSD drive and unassigning the platter drive.  I have not deleted or removed the old platter drive and it now sits in unassigned drives. I am beginning to wonder if this held some critical data for Users and logins and related shares?

3) Issue three is, I cannot for the life of me get either chrome or IE to resolve and hold the https status of my unraid server when logging in. I have done the recent certificate upgrade from Unraid. And yes I can go to settings and click the the link and it resolves ok as https. However when I then add in the browser the local ip address for access it never resolves as https. I therefore believe this stops me from having WAN access also and is preventing me from moving to my next task of getting my nextcloud back up and running which I previously had working using cloudflare, letsencrypt certificate, nginx reverse proxy, using my own domain.

I have attached my diagnostics file created only moments ago as per the instructions in the read me first section. Thanks in advance for any support provided, I am hoping these are relatively easy fixes and not complex resolves.

To start, I'd recommend upgrading to 6.11.5. It has many improvements over 6.11.0.

For #1, it is not clear what your users are trying to login to. Note that only the "root" user can login to the webgui.

For #3, after upgrading to 6.11.5, please provide the *exact* urls you are having trouble with, including whether they are http:// or https:// . Also updated diagnostics in the new version.
