Thanks for this plugin @SimonF

I was afraid it was abandoned, but luckily it now comes with the IPMI-tool package.

You might look into these too, as they fill up the PHP log while debugging myself :P Just some minor definitions missing, which is typically not visible to regular users (might be more, but these were shown):

Is that with the latest?

I updated to the 2025.01.21 version of the plugin from 2023.12.12.  After the update there is a harddrive showing in the dashboard even though all harddrives are unchecked in the plugin settings.  I have tried Edge, Chrome, and Firefox browsers with removing cookies / cache and it still persists.  Please let me know if you need anymore info.  Thank you.

Will look into it.

I tried installing the IPMI app, but it wouldn't install Free IPMI.

Executing install script for freeipmi-1.6.6-x86_64-1.txz.
Package freeipmi-1.6.6-x86_64-1.txz installed.
plugin: skipping: freeipmi-1.5.7-x86_64-2.txz - Unraid version too high, requires at most version 6.7.99
plugin: downloading: ipmi-2025.01.21-x86_64-1.txz ... done
plugin: downloading: ipmi-2025.01.21-x86_64-1.md5 ... done

Not sure if this is a problem or not, but it won't connect to my iDrac through the network connection.

With the 2025.01.21 release at least.

Might see it yourself if you enable PHP logging under Tools, set it to show all info/warnings or check the PHP log on the same page. Not a major issue, as this is disabled by default.

does anyone know how to get this working for a dell poweredge r710 or dell poweredge r730xd?
i just bought an r730xd and the fans are running at 14280 RPM atm so if anyone can help me i'd really appreciate it thanks.

i had a script on unraid that worked for my r710 but since updating to 7.0.0 it no longer works due to ipmitools.

This is how I found this page. In the end (at least until I can figure out why the IPMI Tools plugin (not IPMI-Tools) isn't working, I'm using this script:

https://github.com/White-Raven/PowerEdge-shutup/tree/main

There is an Unraid guide. Also, make sure your iDrac is Enterprise and you have set up IPMI control. Also, Unraid 6.12 and 7 need assistance to install IMPItool and related code (which, hopefully, the above mentioned plugin can help with since it installs it)

i added the scripts and i just get:
/tmp/user.scripts/tmpScripts/Temp Pull/script: line 17: ipmitool: command not found

edit:
if i install the abandoned nerdtools in order to install ipmitool i then get this error:
ipmitool: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypto.so.1.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

You do not need ipmi tool it’s not a lan connection it’s local

FYI, for the script I use, it is required and since iDrac has its own IP address, that's how I get it working which requires ipmitool.

i can't get ipmitool working on unraid 7.0.0

for the IPMI support plugin, when i type in the ip address of the idrac or type in local host i get connection failed

ok so i think i've actually solved it, i did the following:

Motherboard and Model: Dell

Enable Network Connection(s): No

Enable Virtual Machine Override: Dell

Motherboard Model: Any

then in Fan Control i set it to Yes, then under fan settings i had to enable Advanced View and set the temperature sensor and fan speeds there and it seems to have worked.

Have you set to version 2?

You do not use ip for the ipmi plugin, you are on the machine you are controlling

I think idrac needs lanplus which is version 2.

you do NOT need to use network connection!

right, with the network connection set to no now, i don't have to worry about that

Greetings, quick question about IPMI Tools. Is there support for ILO? I searched "HP" and "ILO" in the section and both returned zero hits. I apologize if you have covered this previously. I appreciate the intent of why this tool was created. ILO is a powerful little system. I would love to have granular fan control by the same means which would let me channel the data it generates into a log aggregator or dashboard. Especially any method that allows me to escape HP's garden. Thanks.

It does look like ILO support IPMI. https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=c04530505&docLocale=en_US Have you tried installing to see if the sensors populate in the GUI without enabling the network part. Fan control will not work as there is not any settings for HP currently. Could be added if IPMI command strings can be founded and tested.

same, my script is dead since upgrading to 7.0.0. even with a symlink to libcrypto.so.1.1, it still requires openssl1.1, which unraid doesnt include with 7.0.0.

been using this plugin as a stop-gap until i found a solution, but it hasnt come and doesnt look like it will with nerdtools being dead, honestly.

any chance for some love for us dual-socket users with this plugin? an algorithm to select which processor to read the temps for fan control would be hugely useful. (average of the 2 cpu temps, highest of the 2 cpu temps).
currently i can just select one cpu or the other to monitor. if the non-monitored cpu gets used heavily, the fans wont ramp up :(
