Help to spin down Parity Disk and Disk 1.

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I am VERY new to unraid and have been able to set everything up including shares, docker with the arr's etc.  But for some reason the Parity Disk and Disk 1 won't spin down.  I have 4 disks total in my array; I have used search extensively here in the forums but am stumped.  Side issue, I am not sure which logs to post here for help nor how to download them?

I realize these are newbie questions but if anyone can point me in the right direction or help my search-fu to read another thread; that would be amazing.  Many thanks!

You are likely to get better informed feedback if you attach your system’s diagnostics zip file to your next post in this thread.

Your appdata, system and domains shares all have files on disk1 which explains why disk1 and parity disks are spinning up.

These shares typically want to be held on a cache pool for performance reasons and if you are running the VM or Docker services they will hold files open (which stops mover transferring files).

Thank you so much itimpi!  I should be able to sort out how to move these to the cache via some Google searches! 🙌
