did the shutdown from the console - stop>shutdown

 

It said the parity check was being done because of the missing disc

    It's not. Shutdown using the GUI. It takes several more command to cleanly shutdown from the console unless you install the "powerdown" add-on.

    sorry - in my world the console is the GUI (which is where I did it) - not used to this command line place :)

    Very sure - all the "writes" are shown as belonging to the parity disc and disc 1 shows all 2tb free...

    Like I'd said - it's only data, not the end of the world - and mostly backups for stuff I have anyway.

    I'm not familiar with 4.4. I don't know what it does. You should consider upgrading if only to make support easier. There are more people who are familiar with and can help you with 4.7.
