Since parity rebuild is 25% complete should I let that finish before stopping/ checking cables?

Probably best to let it finish.

To scrub click on the first device of that pool and scroll down, it will sync up the dropped device.

And what if this pool is just one device? C25.png

In that case not much point in scrubbing.

Hmm ok. Were you able to tell what happened with my first diagnostics yesterday? What are the next steps if the cables I just replaced are fine?

  • Community Expert

If the disks continue to drop there's still a problem, and if it's not cables it could be PSU or controller.

So my parity rebuilds have never taken this long... it's been hovering around 20% since this morning... any reason to worry?

Mar 16 19:56:49 Skynet kernel: md: sync done. time=82345sec
Mar 16 19:56:49 Skynet kernel: md: recovery thread: exit status: 0

Parity sync finished some time ago, refresh the GUI, if using Firefox try a different browser, if it doesn't change reboot.

rebooted/ shut down server and went to replace the sata power splitters, found one with a bent / smashed pin. Culprit?

Could be, also those SATA splitters are usually a bad idea, especially if they are splitting a SATA plug, SATA should not be split for more than 2 disks, Molex can handle more.
