X550-T2 NIC not working

Featured Replies

Hello, today I received a X550-T2 from Intel and plugged it into my server, however it is failing to get an IP address from my router and always ends up with a 168.254.x.x. IP. The port constantly goes UP and DOWN however never stays on and the RX error packet always increases and never passes. The 'ethtool' command reports that the link modes are all correct for this card and the devices page shows that the controller is there.

I have tried:

  • Putting NIC into 2 other computers to verify that it is working.
  • Changing PCIe slots
  • Trying different cables
  • Trying different switch ports
  • Static IP and DHCP configuration
  • Deleting network.cfg from the boot device

I am at a loss about what to do and any help would be appreciated!

You can try booting with for example a live Ubuntu flash drive, to see if works there.

I have just tried to do this and the result is the same. It shows that it is connecting with a link speed of 1000 Mbps but never connects and always fails.

That confirms Unraid is not the problem, could be a bad NIC or other LAN issue.
