New unraid server freezing when creating parity

Featured Replies

trying to setup a new unraid server and whenever i parity sync it seems to freeze around 2 hours in

I have never used unraid nor setup a server before so i apologize if it's something simple

my setup us as follows

ryzen 3700x

msi x570s edge

gigabyte gtx 970

8 gigs of ram

i have read global c state needs to be disabled and typical current idle set in bios i have already done that and the ram is running on complete auto setting i don't even have xmp enabled

i'm going to attempt to attach my syslog but if i didn't do it correctly let me know please any help will be appreciated

Unraid driver is crashing, this is usually hardware related, start by running memtest.

Try the just released v6.12-rc1, it might make a difference if there's some compatibility issue with your hardware and the kernel used with v6.11

i Tried updating unraid i also tried swapping the gpu, motherboard and ram for another i had lying around and i still have the same issues no matter what combo of parts i use  at this point the only part i haven't tried swapping is the cpu but i don't have another am4 cpu so i think I'll just purchase a cheap am4 cpu and try that i can always return it if it doesn't fix the problem unless you have another suggestion to try first

Very likely a hardware problem then, and if the CPU is the only thing not changed it could be that.

just talked to my cousin and he is going to let me borrow his 2600x for me to try it out and see if it works I'll update later when i pick it up thanks so much for your help so far though

After trying my cousins 2600x it's been working flawlessly doing the parity sync for about 6 hours now it's never stayed up this long before so i think the problem was the cpu which is weird as i tested it on a couple benchmarks in windows and it worked fine so not sure why it would cause problem with unraid but anyways thank you so much for the help
