Added new drive: HAs it gone wrong?

Just added an extra drive to the array, something I've done quite a few times before, and to be honest I've had precisely this problem before.

 

Inserted drive, stopped array, did the usual add drive rather than rebuild parity option.....

 

Got to "Clearing Drive 0%" on the web interface but clicking refresh has lost all web contact with the server.  On the console there's a message scrolling up stating

 

[1234.564321] MD14: New Disk

[1235.736278] MD14: New Disk

Etc.

 

Is the clearing progressing or is it time to force a reboot?

 

I still have telnet access to the server.

 

Any advice SOON appreciated and a parity rebuild is going to take some while.

Powered off and restarted, appears to be clearing ok this time.
