MCE errors causing system reboots

Featured Replies

Hello,

This has happened twice now, we were watching something tonight and the stream just cutoff and the server reboot.

When it comes back up it starts a parity check.

Here is the diagnostic. From what I read the Dimm one isn't one to be worried about so much, just not sure about the CPU one, and obviously don't like the reboots.

Thanks!

It appears that the Marvel controller crashed.

Marvel based controllers haven't been recommended for use in servers for probably about 5 years now as their hardware / software tends to be very buggy.

Thank you.

I remember seeing the error in fix common problems, but it had said if nothing was happening don't worry about it. I built this about 10 years ago and have just upgraded cpu/mobo as needed.

So if I just planned to switch out both of those for a Hba card or something I should be good?
