March 17, 20233 yr Just got a really, really, really quick...easy question I'm trying to figure out about the Unraid USB installer...trying to wrap my admitedly small, simple brain around and figure the logic here So apparently Unraid / MyServers doesn't like and won't work with Firefox..... SO WHY DOES IT SHIP WITH IT AS THE INBUILT BROWSER?! I have an old, unused Plus key and I'm TRYING to spin up a new server for a project. But I can't replace the key and assign it to a new USB drive...BECAUSE THE GUI DOESN'T LIKE THE BROWSER IT'S SHIPPED WITH. Edited March 17, 20233 yr by eliminatrix2 Added extra info
March 17, 20233 yr The built-in browser is primarily in place because some users run the OS with a VM as their primary system. Because certain actions in the GUI require the array to be stopped (which means that the VM would also be shut down) they would be unable to manage the system in that state. (It actually came into being because a user was using GUI mode with a VM as his primary system and at the same time didn't actually own a cell phone or tablet) By and large though, the vast majority of people never use the built-in browser (I personally never have once) and always access via another system. This presumably includes Limetech themselves. The issues with MyServers and the built-in GUI are an obvious oversight by their part and I'm sure will get rectified.
