Is my cache drive dying?

Recommended Posts

Got this warning notification around midnight.

Event: Unraid Cache disk SMART health [202]

Subject: Warning [sERVER] - percent lifetime remain (failing now) is 100

Description: CT1000MX500SSD1_1910E1EE9FE0 (sdb)

Importance: warning

Had a quick check and everything seems OK but is it time to to replace the SSD?

It means the drive is past its predicted life, based on the total writes, it doesn't mean it's failing, they can sometimes reach 200% or more, I have a few way past 100% life and still going strong, just make sure you have backups of anything important, like you always should.
Yep that's good to know. Pretty sure anything that lives on cache drive is also backed up on array but will double check
