Windows VM with sluggish performance

Featured Replies

I am using Unraid and VMs for 10+ years. Things used to work a lot better, but it seems that I did something wrong or something changed. My VM now runs very sluggish...

Unraid and my Windows VM is run headless. I connect to the VM via Splashtop Personal. I have assigned 32GB ram and 16 cores (from my 10980XE). My Nvidia 1060t is passthrough with dumped vbios. The harddisk runs on an NVME disk. In other words, this shouldn't be a lack of resources...

I remember I had this issue once before, which I addressed by disabling "memory integrity". Now it is still disabled, but for some weird reason, everything is very sluggish. Maybe my GPU is "faulty", but I don't know how I can check this? Maybe some settings is off?

I have another Windows VM running, which seems to run faster although I have less resources allocated. But that's a subjective statement, so not sure whether fact-based.

Any idea how I can troubleshoot this?
