[SOLVED w/o Forum Help] unRaid 4.7 not recognizing Linksys LNE100TX NIC

Featured Replies

Configuring a new unRaid 4.7 (free version) server as follows:

  • ASUS M4A78LT-M LE Motherboard
  • AMD Sempron 140 CPU
  • 3 Seagate SATA 500 MB drives

I realize the onboard network controller is "not supported" however from other posts and my experience it does work, sort of. I was able to sent about 200+ GB over the interface to one of the drives.

Hoping to move to a supported NIC I disabled the onboard interface and installed Linksys LNE100TX v5.2 hardware which is listed in Hardware Compatibility.

System will boot but network contorller is not recognized. ethtool eth0 yields "no such device". 100Mbit LED is on and link blinks. (syslog attached)

While it seems money will solve the problem (buy an Intel NIC) I was hoping someone might suggest a solution that would get the Linksys working until I can take the steps to move my tetwork to gbit.

Installed Intel PRO/1000 NIC and problem solved!

Would be nice if someone would update Hardware Compatibility and remove LNE100TX form supported nic list.

It's in the Wiki so you can do it. Just edit the page.
