Posted August 1, 201113 yr im just preclearing a few drives for my array got 2 western digital 2tb greens clearing temp is at 33 oc , also clearing 2 seagate barracuda 1.5tb 7200.11 they are on 45 oc they are all in the caddy with same fans wondering if seagate barracudas usually run this hot and if its ok?
August 1, 201113 yr The seagates are 7200rpm so they'd naturally run a bit hotter than the greens that run at 5500ish, although 45 is about as high as you'd ever want it to go. Are you sure they're receiving the same airflow?

August 2, 201113 yr Heat rises, so if the Seagate is above other drives, you can try just shifting it around in the drive cage and put it on the bottom. My 2 cents
