Stoned887
Well, here I was until about 20 minutes ago, minding my own business, thinking no bad thoughts when I suddenly got a message about an error on one of my drives....then I go to the Main section and see that actually 4 drives are suddnely showing errors ðŸ˜. It could be a coincidennce, but all these drives are of the same type. I only have one other drive like that in the array, but that one didnt get any errors. There is nothing directly tying them together in terms of the pysical connection...they are neither all on the same power cable nor on the same cable connected to the HBA.... So Im not really sure what to do...Should I stop the array? should I turn the server off? Im in a bit of a panik right now 💀. schmuseturm-diagnostics-20230331-0050.zip schmuseturm-syslog-20230330-2246.zip Quote Link to comment
Stoned887
Phew, that was kind of nerve wrecking....I did a reboot in safe mode and things seemed fine. I got the "array is good again" message when I started the array in maintainance mode. Im not sure if either of htose things where necessary, but it felt like the right thing to do :P. Anyway, rebooted it normally and everything still looks fine. Soooo, could this just have been some kind of freak incident? Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening again ? Im unfortunately not a very advanced user, so I cant really glimse much from the diagnostics and logs besides red=bad. If someone else has some advice I would greatly appreciate it Quote Link to comment

Hmm, I was trying to optimize power consumption on my system in the last couple of days. Although until now I had only switched off the Perfromance boost setting. Could this have something to do with it? Or would this be be more something along the line of the actual powercables for the HDDs failing ? Quote Link to comment
