Wireguard suddenly don't handshake

Featured Replies

Hello !
I got a mullvad VPN running for a months (with VPN manager, and import tunnel), but it stopped working yesterday.
I tried to recreate the tunnel, but it will not handshake anymore.
The only time it can handshake is the short amount of time when i'm applying new network settings.
I tried from command line : "wg-quick up wg0", but it failed with "resolvconf not found"
If i tried to change or delete DNS on the wireguard config, still no handshake.
I use a pi-hole on my network, but i tried with cloudfare dns too on my unraid box, still no handshake.

The same VPN is working correctly on my desktop, so it's not an account problem.

Thanks for your time :)

This is suddenly happening to me as well. If I toggle the tunnel a few times, it will eventually handshake. But even then, the tunnel does not show up as a network for docker containers (I have "VPN tunneled access for docker" selected), so it doesn't appear to actually be working.

Edit- I imported a second tunnel, and suddenly both appear as available networks for containers. But they still don't seem to work at all, I can't get any traffic over the tunnels.

Edit2- I was able to fix this after downgrading from 6.12 RC2 to stable. Oddly, it took multiple reboots to start working. I was assuming this was the same exact issue as OP, but maybe not since I was on 6.12.

To each their own, but Wireguard has been shown less secure than some might like. Some choose to support it (as I believe they should) and some choose to not use it (as I believe they should).

I have no affiliation with OpenVPN, but you won't believe that now and... To each their own.
