Noticed it since 5 beta 6. Has been doing it on two fresh installs of unRAID, on new hardware. Also did it on my previous server. Thought nothing of it, but there actually isn't a reason (besides perhaps polling drive for SMART info) why the drives SHOULD spin up.

 

There is no output in syslog when this happens. Only the eventual spindown command.

 

Can't be just me?

Could it be "simple features"?

Is it unmenu you are using? That will spin up drives.

This is just visiting the front page. Can replicate it without my plugin. And my plugin for the front page is just a css skin anyway

Try a fresh install a clean flash drive to rule out hardware.

The two new servers are completely fresh. Odd thing is, it's not all disks. In fact, it's not even specific disks.

 

Very random it seems.

I'm somewhat suspicious this might have been happening to me also.  I did think I was imagining it.  Running beta10 now but I was on b8d for a while too.
