Unraid Server keeps on crashing when rsyncing files

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have two unraid servers and when I rsync from the primary server to the backup server, the backup server crashes.  The OS is completely unavailable.   The server is still powered on but there is nothing on the screen.   The WebGUI is unavailable as well.   I've done a full Memtest86+ and it passes without any issues.  I've tried different NIC ports on the server and different ethernet cables as well.  My backup server was working fine for several years.  This issue only starting happening this year.

I've attached a copy of the syslog but I don't see why Unraid would crash.  I started the rsync on April 5, 13:48.  The backup server crashed a couple of minutes after.  I had to physically hold the power button to power off the server and reboot.  The backup server started logging again at 13:59.

I can recreate the problem every single time by doing a rsync.   Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?

Unfortunately there's nothing relevant logged, but the symptoms look more like a hardware issue.
