How to have an array not in 24/7 and using Docker/VM

Hello,

 

I want to build the array using a DS4243 shelf, and I don't want the shelf 24/7, only when needed. I was thinking to stop the array while not using the shelf, but then I can't have Docker/VM running. If I stop the shelf without stopping the array for sure it will be a mess ( disks disabled, parity rebuilds ... ).

 

How can I have an array not in 24/7 and using Docker/VM? Virtualizing Unraid under Proxmox? Any other options?
