Yes in some cases but so does making the appdata share exclusive, which is now the preferred solution since it was introduced.

Thanks, changed it to exclusive.

Hi, I'm having problems with backing up containers that have my /mnt/user path mapped into them, as the appdata path that I DO want to back-up is under the external path that I don't want backing up.

[02.03.2025 03:02:49][][idrive-docker] tar verification failed! Tar said: tar: /mnt/user/appdata/idrive/config: Not found

since /mnt/user is mapped to a path in the container and is skipped as external then the /appdata that I want is also skipped...

Any ideas?

Thanks

Check that /mnt/user/appdata is in the appdata sources setting of the plugin.

Yes, I've left it set to the default which appears to contain /mnt/user/appdata and /mnt/cache/appdata.

Wouldn't this still be excluded though as if an external path is higher up the tree than the internal one, then all of the internal stuff would be excluded?

e.g.

Wouldn't this configuration mean that /mnt/user/appdata/binhex-krusader would get excluded because /mnt is mapped as an external volume and is excluded in the config?

Yeah but there's no reason to put it in the excluded list since it's properly recognised as external and backup exetnal volumes is set to No.

No errors. Everything seemed to be successful, but invalid when I go to restore.

Something about how the storage is setup maybe?

Hi,

Since updating to Unraid 7, I can't set a post-run script path or set any paths in the Global Exclusion box. Once I do and then click save, whatever I have put into those boxes disappears. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin but this didn't help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are other container settings being saved?

How many containers do you have?

whats about saving some dummy content in the post/pre scripting section? Also discarded?

The plugin settings at the top - "main settings" and "notifications and scheduling" - are all saved correctly.

I'm backing up 50+ containers - no real change in # count from when I was on unraid 6.12.x.

For the entire "custom scripts" and "some extra settings" sections, anything I put into those sections is discarded after hitting save. I've also confirmed that after hitting save, they aren't being saved to the .conf file for the plugin either - meaning it's not just a visual bug on my end

Thats odd, what browser are you using?

Diagnostics might be helpful to find out why nothing is being written to your flashdrive

Are you on unraid 7.0.1? This only started happening to me after I upgraded from 6.12.14.

I've tried on both Chrome and Firefox - same result, these settings are discarded.

I attached my diagnostics file. It is strange that this isn't getting written to my flash drive. Could it be a weird permissions issue or something?

I wonder if I can manually add these settings in the .conf file as a workaround? I'm just not sure what the structure would be and of course would like to fix the issue instead if possible

Please perform the "debugForm" method to see if all settings are really being sent to the server:

https://forums.unraid.net/topic/137710-plugin-appdatabackup/page/62/#findComment-1488731

I used the debugForm to add `/mnt/user/Media` to the Global exclusions list and `/mnt/user/appdata/misc/appdata_backup_to_gdrive.sh` to the post-run script section

The pastebin site says my posts are "Pending moderation". Not sure what that means?

If those don't work, after a cursory look, the paths I enter are in the new window that pops up, but aren't reflected in the page behind the new window

There is a default limit of how many form fields can be sent at once to the server. It seems that LimeTech adjusted this setting a bit down? (you posted it worked in Unraid 6 and stopped working with Unraid 7). The default limit is 1000 fields. The fix sets this limit to 2000. Maybe coincidence that it stopped working with Unraid 7. I still have to update my Development server to latest Unraid to verify whats the current limit.

The permanent fix would be some sort of splitting the fields, so no adjustment to Unraids PHP settings would be needed - but as aslways: My time is limited currently. I try to get back to some coding work the next few weeks. There are some issue open and some feature requests, but nothing that breaks the maun functionality.
