Keep randomly losing folder access permissions on my shares

Featured Replies

So I have UNRAID in a Homelab Active Directory network and UNRAID is connected to said network. Recently, I've been noticing permission issues with my folders where I will randomly lose write access to commonly used folder and then use access to them completely. To get around this, I have to boot up a Krusader Docker as ROOT to reset the permissions and this will allow me full access until it stops working.

System infomation:

UNRAID 6.11.5 connected to Windows Server 2019 Domain Controller

Samba configuration:

server min protocol = SMB3_11
client ipc min protocol = SMB3_11
smb encrypt = required

Dockers: Navidrome, FileShelter, FlashPapaer, dokuwiki, nextcloud (LinuxServer.io version) and Krusader

VMs: Windows 10 Pro, Windows 8.1 Embedded and Ubuntu

Clients: Windows 10 Pro and Education 22H2

You do not mention what the permissions get changed to which might help identify the likely cause.    I would think that one of the docker containers might be the culprit.

You say you need to run Krusader to reset the permissions?    Do you mean the New Permissions tool provided with Unraid for this purpose does not do the job (I have though that calling it Reset permissions would be a better name for it).

Hi,

The permissions that have changed are the removal of write and sometimes read access by the others group as seen in the Krusaders screenshot below:

I didn't know that there was a permission reset option in UNRAID. Where can I find it?

Hi, I've tried this and I've had an inconsistent result with some folders working correctly and some still inaccessible without Krusader
